Welcome to the City of Phoenix Building Department!  Our department staff can answer questions about the residential and commercial plan review process and inspections associated with building permits.  The Building Department is open for walk-in customers from 8AM - 5PM Monday - Friday.  The  city is closed for lunch from 12PM -1PM.  

The City of Phoenix works with contractors (Oregon Construction Contractors Board: Guide to Hiring a Contractor) and home owners to ensure that their project meets or exceeds required building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing code requirements.  Instructions for submitting building permits can be found at the Building Permits tab below.  

A contract building official reviews plans and conducts inspections on all commercial and residential projects within city limits. In addition, the department is responsible for conducting Fire Life Safety inspections and fire/alarms plan review of commercial properties within the city.
