Utility Billing
Delinquency Fees:
Water bills are due by the 20th of each month. If accounts are not paid in full by the 20th you will automatically be charged a late fee of $10.00. There is no grace period.
Shut off and reconnection fees:
All accounts that are past due will receive a door hanger and will be charged $5.00.
If water service is disconnected for failure to pay, the following fees are automatically charged to the account: $30.00 (service shut off fee) and $40.00 (service reconnection fee). Such fees total $70.00 and must be paid with the full account balance before water service can be reconnected.
- Please note landlords are ultimately responsible for any outstanding balances once a tenant has moved out of their property (ies), per City Ordinance 541.
- Occupants of the property shall be financially liable for any damage to a water meter occurring in the process of turning water service on or off if caused by any person other than an employee of the City.
- The Utility Billing Department may, but is not required to notify you if your water usage seems higher than normal.
- Failure to receive a bill does not exempt penalties or disconnection for non-payment. We are not responsible for late remittance made through the mail service.
