Thank you for visiting the Phoenix Police Department website.  Please take some time and check out who we are and what we do.

My name is Derek Bowker and it is my pleasure to serve the citizens of Phoenix as their Police Chief.

A little about myself, I was raised in Southern Oregon, "over the hill" in Klamath Falls.  After graduation from high school, I joined the Air Force and served a little over 13 years on active duty.  In August 2002 I decided I needed a career change and accepted a position with the Coyote Valley Tribal Police Department in Redwood Valley California.  In July 2004, I had the desire to get back to Oregon and accepted a Deputy Sheriff's position in Curry County Oregon on the beautiful Oregon coast.  After spending a year in Curry County, I was offered a position with the Phoenix Police Department in October 2005.  Since arriving here in Phoenix, I have served in the positions of Patrol Officer, Patrol Lieutenant, and Police Chief.

I am very proud of where the department is today compared to where we were in 2005 when I arrived.  We are continually striving to improve the department and the service we offer.  These efforts continue by focusing on training and communication with the citizens of Phoenix.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me either by phone at (541)535-1113 or by email at dbowker@pxpd.org.
