Mayor Terry Baker
Five generations ago Terry's family came to the Rogue Valley on covered wagons and he himself has lived his entire life within a 10-mile radius (as the crow flies) of where he was born. Terry is a 1984 graduate of Phoenix High School and wears the Pirate colors with pride to this day. Simply put, for Terry Baker, Southern Oregon and specifically Phoenix is .... "home."
Terry's love for "home" inspired him early on to serve as a Firefighter/EMT on the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Department for 3 years during the 1990's. In 2017 Terry was sworn in as a Phoenix City Councilor and was elected as Mayor of Phoenix in the fall of 2020. In addition to serving as a City Councilor and Mayor, during Terry's tenure on Council he has served on the Phoenix Urban Renewal Board, Rogue Valley Council of Governments, and the Rogue Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Terry and his wife "Terri" share a blended family including 4 children and seven grandchildren. Hobbies include family time, fishing, hunting, camping, and boating.
