Public Works Utility Worker

Full-Time, Non-Exempt: $3,416.40 - $4,362.80 Monthly

The City of Phoenix is seeking a Public Works Utility Worker to provide support and assist the Public Works department in the duties of the standard operating policies and procedures of the Department. This position maintains close working relationships with other personnel, outside agencies, and the general public.

We are seeking an employee to perform skilled and semi-skilled assignments for the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of the water distribution system, streets, parks, and storm drains. The ideal candidate must have a valid Oregon driver’s license and be able to obtain a Class B CDL within 6 months from the date of hire. Current Level I and/or Level II water distribution certification is desired with future certification attainment a requirement of permanent employment. They will possess the ability to: work independently as well as in a group setting; perform multiple tasks with continuity in a timely manner; exercise good judgment; communicate effectively; interpret and apply departmental policies and procedures, state laws, city ordinances, and operating and maintenance instructions; perform customer service with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy; consistently meet deadlines; and establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners.
